Pure Vida was even more peaceful than I could imagine. We had so many activities planned and it seemed like the cottage was always right in the middle of them. short commute. water was beautiful, still. loved getting out on the provided kayaks and soaking it up. would go back in a heart beat.

If you are like me then lodging at a vacation must be on point in order for you to enjoy the recreational stuff. This was hands down the best experience we have ever had at an airbnb. Owner was courteous, home was clean and new, views of lake were great. Highly recommend!

House was awesome, lake was awesome - our family had so much fun. The house was very well-equipped with everything you need. We cooked almost all of our meals and did some baking and they had all the tools we needed! Really enjoyed time on the water in the canoe, kayaks and paddle board and lots of s'mores over the fire pit. The outdoor deck is great.

Rachel's place was amazing for a relaxing week away. Everything that you need was available. The location was exactly as described as well. I would definitely book again!

It was a very comfortable stay. We all enjoyed the Lake, bonfire and very peaceful location. Shopping and restaurants close by was a plus.

This is a perfect home away from home!! Only 15-30min from all the popular destinations this location is amazing. The morning views of Chandler Lake was the most soothing nature scape you can ask for in addition to great access to explore the water w/kayaks, a SUP, canoe and row boat. The house has any/all immediate amenities you may need and then some. You can tell Rachel and her mother Deb thought of everything! If anything was needed they were immediate to respond. My husband and I did not want to leave, and will certainly return !! Thank you so much to our hosts for this perfect getaway in Traverse!

Idyllic setting on a lake visited by Loons. Cabin is new, perfectly cleaned, and very well stocked with everything needed for a great stay. Secluded feel combined with easy access to Traverse City. Host is gracious and friendly, enjoyed our pontoon ride to the sandbar and making new friends. Close to great hikes too!

You do not need to leave this place to have a great vacation. Although the city is just a short drive away you may find yourself wanting to relax on the porch or by the water. Everything was accomodated for and everything was thought of so that you can have a worry free stay. Look no further if you want to stay near Traverse City. This is perfect.

Beautiful cottage on Chandler Lake has amazing views of woods and water. The cottage was extremely well-cleaned and had all the amenities needed for cooking meals. Great for a small family (the upstairs beds are loft-style and overlook the 1st floor). Highly recommend!

We stayed at Pure Vida during our recent trip to Traverse City for a horse show competition. The home was perfect and exactly as described. The setting was beautiful and we thoroughly enjoyed relaxing on the front porch when we were there. I would highly recommend Pure Vida from someone looking for a great get away in Traverse City!

Spacious, cute cottage in a great location - it just couldn't be beat. We spent quite a bit of time site seeing, but the cottage was a great home base. I loved the decor and everything was in tip-top shape. Having a washer and dryer (bring your own detergent) was a bonus. I don't know that I've ever used the same house twice but I hope to be back to this one.

This cottage is in a wonderful, peaceful location but still convenient to Traverse City. We enjoyed the outdoor space, especially the water access, and we made great use of the kayaks, canoe, and SUP. The water was beautiful and clean. The interior of the cottage was just perfect for our stay. It was clean and well-appointed, and just the right size for our family (two adults and two teens). We had a great stay and would recommend this listing, especially for people who enjoy the water.

This little cottage is truly a gem! The Pura Vida cottage was perfect for our family including our two young children. We loved everything about it, from the amazing location and views of Chandler Lake to the the thoughtfully decorated and sparkling clean cottage that is packed with everything you may need during your stay. Our host, Deb (Rachel’s mom) was amazing and super attentive to anything we needed. We would love to return again next year!

This was a trip for the books! Deb and Rachel’s cottage met our needs perfectly. Situated on right on the lake with paddle boards, a single kayak, double kayak and canoe, there was no shortage of fun water toys. Deb took us out on her pontoon to the sandbar, which became a favorite spot for us and our 8 year old son. Deb was a gracious host, who offered a lot of great recommendations in the area, many of which we tried and loved. The cottage came stocked with most everything you’d need for meals, etc. This was the most well-appointed house in which we’ve stayed. If you’re looking for a clean, modern home with a responsive and kind host, look no further. You won’t be disappointed!

The house was exactly as shown in the pictures. Our stay at Rachel’s place was absolutely perfect! The place was spotless, beautifully decorated, and had all the amenities we needed for a comfortable and relaxing stay. The Rachel and Deborah were incredibly welcoming and responsive, making check-in seamless and offering great local tips. The location was ideal, with so much to do yet peaceful and quiet at the house. We couldn't have asked for a better experience and would highly recommend this Airbnb to anyone! Rachel is such a wonderful hostess and the space is top notch! Extremely clean home that served our family very well during our week long stay. Rachel ensured that we had absolutely everything we needed (and more) during our stay from a "great big book of everything" describing the area and surrounding activities to kayaks, a paddle board, life vests, and even chopped wood for the fire pit that we enjoyed for family time roasting hot dogs and smores (roasting utensils were even provided)! We loved our time spent at this beautiful property and hope to make this a tradition for our family!

I really wish that I could give this cottage extra *extra* stars! This will by far be 1 of my favorite stays! Headed up for a NYE get away & it was absolutely a perfect winter holiday! The cottage is even dreamier than the pictures. It’s nearly brand new & designed with such creativity, love & care that it feels like home. The cottage is airy & bright, completely sanitized & clean, kitchen fully stocked & made for people who love to cook, towels/linens/blankets are so comfy, and the entire space is welcoming & cozy. It really feels like Rachel & Deb curated the cottage for friends & family and somehow you got invited, too. 🥰 There were 2 of us, so there was room to spread out. The lofted dual level allowed for quiet time to read/write/work & have some solo time while still being together (Wi-Fi is strong & consistent for more than 2 ppl working). The cottage faces a lake and is a few minutes walk from a forest preserve. Morning coffee watching the snow fall on the trees, a quiet stroll down to the lake and an easy hike through Killingsworth Park made for all the best that nature’s wonderland has to offer. Fire pit at night is perfect for stargazing & a nightcap. I can only imagine how much fun it is in the summer! The cottage is a short drive to city center where you will find anything you forgot to bring, need & are curious to try. Outdoor activities are within close proximity- Crystal Mountain about 45 min away for skiers, Boyle approx 1 hr. This cottage is really great AND the hosts are so welcoming & sweet! Communication with Deb & Rachel was prompt, helpful & just downright pleasant! They were so helpful & accommodating. As we were finalizing the reservation, Deb assured me “you’re going to love it” and she was 100% right! I cant wait to go back this summer!

I stayed for 10days for work and my family joined me for part of the stay. For a family of 5 this was a great fit. Kids still had their own space to go to if needed but we could all be together as a family if wanted. Being right on the lake, access to the kayaks and SUP, and especially the water trampoline topped off my family's time at the property. Everything was well thought through for needs for a full kitchen and 1.5 baths. This is a great property that many will enjoy for years to come. My children are already asking if we can go back next year.

Great cottage! Clean and quiet. Large covered front porch with view of lake was awesome. Enjoyed the fire pit. Two kayaks (one kids) were great. Also SUP available. It is a bit of a steep walk down to lake. It does have steps and a rope. Kitchen was well appointed with plenty of pots and pans, etc. Bed in master was comfortable. Convenient to TC about 7-8 miles away. Deborah (owner) communicated promptly if we had a question. Enjoyed our stay!

A beautiful, tranquil setting, immaculately clean and well stocked. We had a great time relaxing around the cottage and lake. We enjoyed going into Traverse City and out to Leelanau Peninsula to visit some of the wineries. We were there with our daughter, her boyfriend, and our son. They helped us celebrate our 33rd anniversary!!! We would definitely revisit 😊

Glad I selected this location. it looks like it may be out in the country but it only 10 or 15 minutes from Downtown TC. this peace and quiet of this location was exactly what I needed for this vacation. sitting on the porch or down at the lake's edge listening to leaves fall to the ground was a much better way to do an autumn trip for me. The lake was nice. we took advantage of all the activities the host offered...SUP and kayak, and fire pit on the lawn with a lake view.

We loved our stay at the Pura Vida cottage. The lake was quiet and peaceful. My son and I had a blast catching large mouth bass and painter turtles every day. We also really enjoyed taking the kids to the sand bar where they could run around and get some energy out. From the hand-written note attached to a welcome bag, to meeting Deb and having her invite us out on the boat, I can't say enough good things about this place. We hope to be back next summer!

This was our fourth visit over seven years to this area and Rachel / Deb’s place has been by far our favorite place to stay. The house is so pretty and the hosts have been very thoughtful with the products they left (such as toiletry caddies; brilliant). We kayaked to the sand bar multiple times, used the porch and the lower deck daily. The location is peaceful and secluded but close to lots to do if you want to get away. Loved it. 🌲 🛶🩴🔥🏊‍♀️💙 🌲

My 7 year old son and I stayed for two weeks in this beautiful cottage and couldn't have asked for anything more! The cottage is exactly as shown in the photos and SPOTLESS! The location was perfect for us; it is a quick drive to downtown Traverse City (and many other great spots) but also very private and serene. It was a great place to come back to after a day of activities and exploring. We made use of the canoe, the paddle boards, the kayaks, the BBQ and the fire pit and enjoyed many meals on the front porch. I cooked most of our meals, and the kitchen is beyond well-stocked. It had everything I needed. Deb took us out for one afternoon on her pontoon, and it was one of the highlights of the trip! She is a fantastic host and human - friendly, communicative, helpful and just great to talk to. We plan to come back next summer and rent the cottage again, and we will be counting down the days! Thank you for the amazing memories, Deb!

A Perfect Getaway!!! Thank you for being such amazing hosts and letting us stay in your beautiful cottage! We absolutely loved the peaceful setting nestled in the woods on Chandelier Lake. The cottage was cozy, clean, and incredibly well-stocked with everything we could possibly need—from kitchen appliances to bedding, plus an outdoor grill and a great fire pit. The kayaks were a big hit and so easy to access—we really appreciated having them right there on the lake. The location was ideal, with quick access to Traverse City and other charming nearby towns. We were on the go from the moment we arrived until the moment we left, and still wish we had more time to enjoy it all.

We loved staying at this cottage. The covered porch with a view of the lake was great!! Even in the rain. The house was spotless and had everything you need. The binder with maps and local brochures was so helpful!! When we had a problem with the grill, they responded in a half hour and were out to check a few hours later. Everything was great!! Can’t say enough nice words about this place! First and foremost it is so CLEAN! The house is more than a few years old now but walking in it was so clean it honestly felt brand new. We enjoyed spending time outside in the yard, but the hidden jewel is the lower deck down by the lake! We spent so many peaceful mornings down there drinking coffee and watching the wildlife around the lake, and relaxed after a long down drinking wine and listening to the loons. The house is wonderful and cozy and includes anything you would need for your stay. A trip here is well worth it, you won’t be disappointed! We loved our time spent at this house and can’t say enough nice things about it, as well as Rachel and Deb!

Peaceful cabin in the woods on Lake Chandler. We loved our stay, close to the city when needed but definitely had that up North feeling. We will be back, great host, amazing property, couldn’t have been happier!

We loved Pura Vida for the perfect size home for our family of 6. Our 4 kids fit perfectly upstairs (ages 14,11,11,7) and the house was beautiful. We enjoyed exploring different lakes and swimming in the lake at the house - it was warm and calm! Loved the firepit as well!

We loved our stay at Pura Vida. The cottage and lakeside settings exceeded our expectations. The cottage porch provides a lovely filtered view of the lake, and a few steps down your private walkway is a sitting/dining terrace just feet from the water. A few additional steps leads down to your private dock and waterfront. The cottage itself is relative new and well-appointed. There are a number of beautiful walking and hiking routes nearby, and you can even walk to a good restaurant (Peegeos) and a convenience store (Easy Mart). Traverse City is close by, if you feel the need for some hustle and bustle (and more dining choices), but it is hard to leave the tranquility of Pura Vida's setting.

10 Star experience. Absolutely amazing and there is nothing that Rachel's home does not provide. Beyond a home away from home. Extremely recommended.

We had an amazing stay! The Airbnb was spotless, had every amenity we could have needed, and then some, and the thoughtful personal touches made it feel so welcoming. You can tell the host truly care about their guests. We would absolutely stay here again and highly recommend it!

We had a great stay at Rachel's beautiful, very clean home! The house and grounds were exactly as pictured and described. It was the perfect place for my family of 10, including 4 children aged 10 and younger, to spend the week. Rachel was extremely helpful whenever we had a question. The house is close to Traverse City and Elk Rapids for swimming and other outdoor activities. I highly recommend this home and hope to be back again.
